First Weigh In

So I Joined a Tops group today.  I weighed in for the first time.  It Definatly  makes you feel more accountable knowing that I am going to get weighed in next week.  I went to Giant Eagle today.  I was really hungry but I did really well.  I bought all healthy food.   I bought a a lot of grapes.  Abby and I love them.  They are great for lunches and snacks.  The other thing I bought today is Edy's low fat vanilla ice cream and Diet root beer.  I made healthy root beer floats for Abby and I.  The other thing i did was instead of buying a loaf of Italian bread i bought Dinner rolls so Abby and I could each have one instead of a few slices of bread.  small changes!

First Day of School

So Today is Abby's first day of 1st Grade!!!  I am excited for a new school year for her.  We Packed her lunch together last night, all healthy things!  I plan to start walking with Baby Matt while Abby is in school.  Hopefully I can also get in a bit of Aerobics while He is napping.

Its the little things

So today Abby and I went shopping for school clothes at the grove city Outlet mall.  It was a long day of walking.  I probably did not get a lot of benefits from the walking because i had to walk at a pace that a 6 year old could keep up with  They have a frozen yogurt place there which is awesome because we don't have any of those around here.  It was really good.  I think the biggest problem when going to the mall is going to the food court.  Chosing a sensible lunch is not easy when you are looking all the different junk foods you would love to have.  I ended up getting a chicken sub.  When they asked if i wanted fries i almost said yes but i didn't  (Small victories.)  Thanks to my mom I did not have cheesecake at her house before going to the mall.  I realized how much i eat really with out even thinking about it.  I am looking at it this way every small step/decision i make i will benefit from.  I didn't gain this weight over night I am not going to lose it that way. 

My goal is to weigh myself only once a week Friday Mornings.  I have trouble with excessive weighing and then getting discouraged. Tomorrow is my first weigh in...

The beginning

So I have decided to start this blog for myself to help me with my weight loss journey...  I really hate dieting and eating healthy.  I need to do something to get myself motivated maybe this will help me. 
A little history about my weight.  I grew up being very skinny and when I graduated high school i worked at a donut  shop for about 5 or 6 months.  i gained a few pounds about 10 but i was skinny i could handle it.  Then I went to college and I gained another 10 to 15.  Then I got my first reall job in an office. I gained a bit more.  so now  I am 30 years old and I have had 2 children and the weight has pilled on I weigh about 70 lbs more than I did when I graduated.  I would like to lose 45 lbs of that weight i have gained.  So this is my start.  Right now i am hungry but I am going to go to bed with out stuffing my face.  Night time is the most difficult for me.  After I get the kids to bed I just want to relax and snack.  Well I am going to bed without doing that.  I think I will have a small glass of milk to take the edge off and try to get a goods night sleep.
